Minimum quality characteristics no more than two
faults:
- good density : sufficient density resulting from
good branching, with no knotting
- good needle colouring : avoid selling trees presenting
generalised discolouration
- a conical shape : tapering greater than 30%
- small base : the height of the base must not be
greater than 15% of the height of the tree

First choice Christmas trees,
no more than one of the following faults:
- multiple limbs,
- vast, uncovered branch gaps,
- irregular density (badly filled),
- yellowing needles (chlorosis),
- broken branches,
- visible presence of a dead branch,
- obvious presence of scratches on several branches,
- excessive presence of lichens,
- presence of galls (larch aphids - 10 visible galls)
